Gruet Sparkling Wines - this is my favorite domestic sparkling wine - taste like Champagne without the price

Several generations ago, the Gruet family founded its first, famous Champagne House and Vineyards in Bethon, France.  In 1983, Gilbert Gruet, whose Champagne house, Gruet e Fils had produced fine Champagne in Bethon, France since 1952, traveled through the Southwestern part of the United States.  The Gruet family learned of a 17th century vineyard in New Mexico and after researching climate conditions, soil and altitude, it was decided that New Mexico's warm days and cool nights would offer the perfect environment needed to produce exceptional sparkling wine.  Using only Chardonnay and Pinot Noir grapes for their sparkling wines, they are carryng on the Gruet's great tradition of making the perfect sparkling wines in the U.S.  Check out all the wonderful offerings.icon
